Elsie's most useful feature is not a shop menu; it is the Story Quest that opens her gift-hint conversation. Finish the quest first, then visit the Manor House when the daily question is available.
The hint system is a planning aid, not a replacement for the Gifts page. Record the answer, make one sensible choice, and remember that the conversation has a daily limit.
Use one hint without wasting it
From Summer 1 onward, the daily Gossip interaction can reveal a resident's preference. Choose a resident whose route matters that day, because asking at random can consume the only useful hint window.
A hint still needs an inventory check. The best answer may be an item you should reserve for a request, so compare it with your collection before handing it over.
Elsie's own flowers, tea, and accessories
Elsie's Loved examples fit her social role: an Alda accessory, a scone, a flower, or tea. The table keeps her friendship route distinct from the advice she gives about other residents.
Crystal Rose and Jasmine Tea may be easier to replace than the pendant. Use a repeatable option on ordinary days and save the rare accessory for a deliberate occasion.

Summer 2 arrives just as the Gossip route becomes available, so avoid combining a new quest check with a rushed birthday search. Prepare one gift and visit the Manor House after reading the current objective.
The birthday does not make the daily hint unlimited. Continue the route through normal conversation, letters, and one question per day rather than expecting every resident's answer at once.
