Fields of Mistria Gift Guide
Check the resident first, choose a gift you can reliably obtain, and save the rarest items for the birthdays that matter.
Direct answer
The safest gift route is to open the resident's confirmed Loved or Liked list, then choose an item that fits your current farm, shop, fishing, cooking, or mining route. Each resident accepts one gift per day; a birthday improves the result, but a stable Liked gift is often more useful than a rare Loved item you cannot replace.

Gift icons and portraits are compiled from publicly available game references. This table brings resident preferences together in one searchable guide.
Loved and Liked are not interchangeable
Loved is the strongest confirmed preference, while Liked is the practical everyday category. Neutral, Disliked, and Hated items should not be treated as a universal fallback: they can waste the day's gift opportunity even when they do not reduce an existing relationship.
The finder keeps the game's English item names so you can match what appears in the game UI. If you are playing with a localized interface, use the English name in parentheses when a translation is uncertain or differs between versions.
| Preference | Normal day | Birthday | Practical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Loved | +20 | +40 | Rare or high-value gift |
| Liked | +10 | +30 | Best for everyday use |
| Neutral | +3 | +23 | Usable, but less efficient |
| Disliked / Hated | +0 | +20 | Usually avoid |
Build a birthday plan around availability
For a birthday, start with the resident's Loved list, then ask whether the item is actually obtainable in the current season and save. A farmable, purchasable, or cookable Liked item is a safer daily plan than a rare artifact that competes with the museum or a quest.
Do not assume that flowers, cooked dishes, gems, or common materials work for everyone. Preferences are resident-specific, and the same item can have a very different value for another character.
Use reverse lookup when you already have the item
Select an item in the finder to see which residents list it as Loved or Liked. This is useful after fishing, mining, cooking, or opening a chest when you want to turn one spare item into a relationship plan.
If the game or a later patch disagrees with an older list, check the page update date and the linked reference before treating the difference as a bug. The table is a current guide, not a guarantee that every future patch will preserve the same category.
How gift values work
The current reference separates Loved, Liked, Neutral, Disliked, and Hated rather than treating every positive reaction as equivalent. A birthday adds a bonus, but a reliable Liked item can be the better everyday choice when a Loved item is rare or needed elsewhere.
A negative preference does not erase existing relationship points, but it still uses that resident's daily gift opportunity. Check the table and the resident page before experimenting with a museum item, quest material, or one-of-a-kind drop.
Why gift lists need a version check
Patches can add recipes, correct a preference, or change how an item is categorized. An old screenshot can therefore look precise while describing a different build.
If the in-game reaction differs, compare the exact English item name, update date, and installed Mods. Use the current game response and the linked reference together instead of copying a stale list.
