Fields of Mistria Legendary Fish

✦Unlock the perk before planning a fishing day

Fishing level 30 opens the relevant skill tier; it does not automatically buy Legendary. Visit Caldarus’ statue on the farm, spend 80 Essence and check that the perk is enabled. Keep your rod and an empty inventory slot ready. You do not need to clear the mines to use the farm river or the pond in town.

When the season and weather match, a message before the day starts announces a nearby legendary fish and shows its silhouette. That is your signal to prioritize fishing today. No special hour is listed for these four catches; the morning announcement is not a requirement to reel them in only at dawn.

✿Choose the water, then search the shadows

For a pond, use the water west of the Manor in northern Mistria; Eastern Road and Deep Woods also have ponds. For river targets, start with your farm river, then check other river stretches in Mistria, Eastern Road or the Narrows. For an ocean target, the Beach is a clear starting point; Western Ruins and Sweetwater Farm also have ocean water. The diagram groups water types; it does not show walking distances or exact spawn tiles.

◆Spring: Cherry Fish

Look for the morning message on a windy spring day with cherry-blossom weather. Take your rod to the pond west of the Manor in northern town, or another pond, and search Small shadows. A river beside your farm is the wrong water type even if blossom petals are visible there.

Cast close to a Small shadow and wait for the bite’s exclamation mark before using the tool to reel in. Small shadows can be ordinary fish too: check the catch name before declaring the search complete. If no suitable shadow is visible, check another pond edge or pond rather than spending the day on Medium or Large shadows.

★Summer: Lightning Fish

Wait for Summer and Storm or Thunderstorm, together with the morning message. Start on your farm river and look for Medium shadows; you can also search river water in town, Eastern Road or the Narrows. Ordinary Rain is not a substitute for the listed storm conditions.

Work along accessible riverbanks, aim close to a Medium shadow and reel at the exclamation mark. Do not switch to the Beach because it is raining there: ocean water will not produce this river target. Keep enough time to visit another river stretch if the first has no suitable shadow.

▤Fall: Leaf Fish

On a windy fall day with falling leaves and the morning message, go to a river and look for Small shadows. The farm river is a convenient first stop; town, Eastern Road and the Narrows provide alternatives. This is not the spring pond route reused in another season.

Ignore Medium shadows when concentrating on Leaf Fish, cast near a Small one and wait for the bite before reeling. The leaf effect identifies the seasonal windy weather; a sunny day in fall does not automatically meet the condition. Check the species name and keep the caught Leaf Fish for the museum.

◇Winter: Snow Fish

Look for Winter, Blizzard and the morning announcement. Go to the Beach and search Medium ocean shadows. Snowfall alone is not the listed Blizzard condition, and fishing a snowy river will not produce Snow Fish.

Follow the accessible shoreline and cast near Medium shadows; reel at the exclamation mark. Western Ruins and Sweetwater Farm are other ocean locations for rod fishing, although their ocean water is not divable. Diving holes and fish traps are not the route for this legendary catch.

✦No message, wrong shadows or nothing caught?

No message: check Fishing 30, the purchased and enabled Legendary perk, season and exact weather first. Then check whether this save already caught that species. Do not treat a matching season alone as a guarantee, or assume buying the perk after the morning announcement will create a missed message that same day.

Message seen but no target found: compare pond/river/ocean and Small/Medium, then search another bank of the same water type. The silhouette in the announcement identifies the species; it is not a marker on a particular map tile. A same-size ordinary fish is not proof that the weather rule is wrong.

Fish traps have been unable to catch legendary fish since 0.15.2. Earlier Lucky Haul and School Crasher duplication routes were also fixed. Use a rod for this route; an old clip showing extra copies does not establish current repeatability.

✿One of each per save: donate before selling

Each of the four species can be caught once per save. Together they form the Legendary Fish Set in the Fish Wing; completing that set is the Fish Fanatic achievement. Keep the fish out of your shipping bin, cooking ingredients and gifts until it is safely donated.

If you already donated a species, mark it complete and work toward a different season rather than trying to catch a second. If you remember catching it but the museum is missing it, search your inventory and storage first. If it was sold, do not promise yourself another spawn: preserve the current save and consider an earlier backup if one exists.
